You can register as a team for our volunteer events!
We ask that you please follow to following steps, if possible, to make sure your team is fully registered with signed liability for the event.
#1: Register as a Team.
This is easy! First, create an account if you have not already, and be sure you are signed in. Then all you have to do is choose "SIGN UP AS A TEAM" and assign yourself as team leader. Here you can also add emails for those in your team who have volunteered with us before and have a valid liability waiver on file. For members of your team who have not volunteered with us before or have an expired liability waiver, you can reserve the remaining number of spots you need and proceed to step 2. (For team members that are youth under 14 or without their own email address, you can skip the next step and instead you will need to fill out a youth liability waiver (See the Youth & Family section for more information).
#2: Send your Team Join Link.
To have volunteers join your team, you can send them a link to join your team. To get this link, select your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen then select the "My Teams" option on the dropdown menu.
On the "My Teams" page, look under the "Team Name" column to find where your team is listed then click on link that says "Manage Team"
You will then be taken to the "Team Response" page, there you can click on the "Copy Join Link" button. This will copy a link to your clipboard that you can then paste and send to members of your team.
Here is an example of a message that you can send:
Hi team! We are going to be volunteering with the Bellingham Parks Volunteer Program! Here’s how to sign up:
Create an account here: User Registration
When your account is created, join our team: [paste join link here]
NOTE: if you are a minor, you will be asked to provide a parent’s email address when you sign your waiver so that they can sign off on it too. Please tell them to look for the email and check their spam folder if they don’t see it!
Completing this ensures your team members will be checked in electronically and their hours automatically recorded. Next time your team wants to volunteer, you can just sign the same team up again without needing to send the join link or do another waiver.
A few more tips for teams:
- When you sign up a team, please reserve a conservative number of spots to leave room for others - your best guess of how many will actually attend. You can always add more spots to your team if needed, and we won’t turn anyone away if you have a few extras.
- Team signup should be used for a specific group that you are managing. If you want to spread the word to a larger group and don’t want to be responsible for managing them or figuring out who’s coming, please send them the regular signup link instead.
- Got a big team and want an event just for them? Depending on staff availability, we may be able to plan a private volunteer project. Best for teams of 20+ people. Please contact us at pkvolunteers@cob.org with your team size, preferred area, and preferred dates/times. Allow a minimum of 4 weeks for planning.
