Curious about how to restore aging apple or pear trees near you?
Join Steve Gaber, our dedicated volunteer Park Steward fruit tree specialist, on Tuesday, February 14th, 2023 (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.) as he facilitates a class on Renovation Pruning for Overgrown Apple and Pear Trees.
At the end of this class, participants will be able to:
- Feel more comfortable maintaining fruit trees for quantity and quality fruit
- Improve fruit tree production while developing healthy structural shape of fruit trees
This FREE class will take place at two locations: Van Wyck Park (11 a.m.-noon) & Woodstock Farm Park (1-2 p.m.).
All ages and abilities welcome. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.

Interested in joining Steve out at the orchard on an ongoing basis? Our volunteer Orchard Stewardship Team is adding more members to provide annual maintenance, pruning, and fruit harvesting for the 80 fruit trees at 3 Parks properties. This is an expansion of the heritage orchard restoration project at Woodstock Farm, begun last season.
